"Shandelle re-trained my OTTB, who is now a hunter jumper 3’3 competition horse. Her restart and patience made his career flourish. I would recommend her to train and ride to anyone!
I spent 6 months training with shandelle and it has changed my life for the better. After competing professionally for the past few years I came to Canada on a work placement. Shandelle opened my mind to so many possibilities and became the coach and friend I never knew I needed. She approached so many aspects of the equestrian world with an open mind and new ideas, catering to both horse and riders demands perfectly. Throughout the years I have had numerous coaches but with shandelle it was almost as if everything just clicked and made sense. Her endless knowledge makes her information seem effortless and ideas come to light in a whole new way. I found in her not only my inspiration in life but a mentor, friend and life long family member.
Very thorough with a keen eye! Pays attention to all the details which make a big difference between good and amazing! Very patient with the students and horses, and she really encourages the connection between the two. Highly recommend for lessons and training.
I bought my very first horse, Casanova, from Shandelle in 2007. I still have Casanova today and I couldn’t be happier. Shandelle was honest, professional, and very kind from the start. Casanova was all that she told me he would be, and more. It did not take long for me to see how much Shandelle cares about her horses, and their new homes. Over fourteen years later, we still keep in touch to talk about how Casanova is doing. I am so grateful for my experience with Shandelle and her help in finding my special boy.
I met Shandelle through an ad she posted on a local buy-sell page. She was offering to provide training/ coaching in exchange for someone to work with a young horse she wanted started. This was a great chance for me to increase my experience with young horses, so I jumped at the opportunity to be a helper. She was an excellent trainer to learn from. Shandelle is clear in her teaching methods, and gets results if you are willing to work for them! With her extensive knowledge of how the mind of a young horse works we began working with Karlos. Initially he was flighty and frightened but in a matter of weeks with care and patience he was schooling over gymnastic fences! The transformation in the horse was incredible, and it reflected in my ability to read him and perfect my lunging, riding and horsemanship when it came to dealing with this young gelding. The best thing about being a working student with Shandelle is that she can ‘walk the walk’. If I was unsure on how to ask the horse for a halt on the lunge she willingly demonstrated it to me. She is an excellent rider and has many training techniques to offer all levels of experience. The difference when working with Shandelle is that you have plenty of independence to organise your own schedule. When I was confident enough I was given the opportunity to work Karlos myself, and this allowed me to bond with the horse and he began to trust me. It is an incredible experience working with such a motivated coach, and I would recommend her for anyone wanting to drastically improve their training skills in the equine industry.
"I felt so confident training with Shandelle because she takes time to know you and your horse and helps you build confidence and love with your horse"
