About Shandelle – Elite Show Coach & Rider Developer
Shandelle is a passionate educator and high-performance riding coach with degrees in Education and Arts from Lakehead University. Her focus is on developing confident, capable show riders—from grassroots competitors to seasoned juniors—through structured, progressive training.
With international experience working under Olympian Beth Underhill and Nicole Walker (Adena Springs), Shandelle blends elite-level insight with a strong teaching foundation. She has coached riders to success at both local and major shows, including the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair and U.S. hunter equitation circuits.
Shandelle formerly led the equestrian program at Queen Margaret’s School, Canada’s only in-house school riding academy, and now mentors aspiring coaches and evaluates riders through Canada's national coaching development program.
As a 2025 Director of both the Vimy Western Riding Club and Cowichan District Riding Club, Shandelle is dedicated to excellence in the show ring—and to creating a positive, professional training experience where riders feel prepared, confident, and ready to win.
Coach Nalani Walker has been immersed in the equestrian world from a young age, growing up on horseback with a strong foundation in western riding and achieving championships in barrel racing. Her keen eye for detail and dedication to training have led her to successfully start and develop ponies and horses under the guidance of her mentors.
Nalani’s true passion lies in empowering riders to gain confidence in their abilities. She focuses on teaching the “how” and “why” behind riding techniques, ensuring her students not only improve their skills but also enjoy the learning process. With a commitment to fostering a positive and engaging environment, Nalani inspires riders of all ages and levels to reach their full potential in the sport.
Ander Harris is an experienced equestrian coach with a diverse background in the world of riding. His journey began as a young rider in the Arabian circuit, where he developed a deep passion for horses and riding. After honing his skills, Ander transitioned to a eventing / hunter-jumper farm, where he further refined his abilities while riding for the UBC IHSA team.
With a patient and gentle coaching style, Ander is dedicated to creating a supportive and nurturing environment for his riders. He is particularly skilled at working with beginners, helping them build confidence and develop their skills in a positive setting. His organized and detail-oriented approach ensures that each rider receives personalized attention tailored to their individual needs.
Ander takes great joy in supporting his riders at horse shows and events, fostering not only their technical skills but also their love for the sport. His commitment to excellence and passion for teaching make him a beloved coach among his students.
